I Am An American! Thank You, God!
God, I am so grateful that You ordained I should be born in The United States of America, the largest exporter of The Gospel in the world. I live in a country where I can choose where I can worship, where I have the right to vote for anyone I choose, and countless other freedoms that do not exist in other countries.
I recently saw a program on television about North Korea, and it broke my heart. They do not recognize You as God, but Kim Jong-il (son of demigod Kim Il-sung). They refer to him as they did his father as "Dear Leader". He is adored and worshiped and is seen as the source of everything good. Little children, dressed in uniforms, sing songs of praise to him. Adults gush about him like he was an adoring father. He tells them what they can watch on television. He says "no internet" because he does not want them to know what's going on in the world outside. And do they mind? No! They have implicit trust for their "Dear Leader" and do not mind they have no personal freedoms at all. After all, their "Dear Leader" knows what's best for them, even what clothes to wear, books to read, and music to listen to! And of course, in return, he must be worshiped.
I could have been born there, God, and never known about You. I could never have known of Your love for me because I would not have had the chance to hear about You.
I dedicate this video to You as my vessel of praise to You. Memorial Day Tribute to members of the United States Armed Forces who now rest in peace in Arlington National Cemetery - set to the song - "Arlington" by Trace Adkins. In honor of the Fallen Heroes of the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Reserves, and I love it. All gave some, some gave all. These are the men and women who bought our freedom at the price of their lives. I give thanks to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and pray for the loved ones they left behind. And I give thanks to You, God, that I am an American!
Words to this song
I never thought that this is where I'd settle down
I thought I'd die an old man back in my hometown
They gave me this plot of land,me and some other men, for a job well done
There's a big white house sits on a hill just up the road
The man inside he cried the day they brought me home
The folded up a flag and told my mom and dad
'We're pround of your son'
And I'm proud to be on this paecful piece of property
I'm on scared ground and I'm in the best of company
I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done
I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones, I made it to Arlington
I remember that my daddy brought me here when I was eight
We searched all day to find out where my granddad lay
And when we finally found that cross
He said, 'son this is what it cost to keep us free'
Now here I am a thousand stones away from him
He recongized me on the first day I came in
And it gave me a chill when he clicked his heels and saluted me
I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property
I'm on scared ground and in the best of company
I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done
I can rest in peace I'm one of the chosen ones, I made it to Arlington
And every time I hear twenty-one guns
I know they brought another hero home to us
We're thankful for those thankful for the things we've done
We can rest in peace, 'cause we were the chosen ones
We made it to Arlington, yea, dust to dust
Don't cry for us, we made it to Arlington.
